inVentiv Health Selected by Forbes Magazine Among its 200 Best Small Companies

Most Recent Ranking Follows Recognition on Lists Compiled by Fortune and BusinessWeek

SOMERSET, N.J., Oct. 20 -- inVentiv Health, Inc. (Nasdaq: VTIV - News) was selected as one of Forbes Magazine's America's 200 Best Small Companies, ranking #84 among the nation's top 200 small companies on the list. The list of the 200 small companies appears in the October 30, 2006 issue of Forbes Magazine and is available online at http://www.forbes.com.

According to Forbes, the list of the 200 Best Small Companies ferrets out the most robust, fundamentally disciplined public outfits with sales between $5 million and $750 million. To qualify, a company must have had a share price above $5 as of September 29, 2006 on three-month average volume of 10,000 or more shares. Candidates must also carry profit margins of greater than 5%, with positive sales and profit growth, on average, over both the last five years and last 12 months.

In addition to the Forbes ranking, inVentiv was also recently ranked as one of FORTUNE Magazine's Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies as well as BusinessWeek's "Hot Growth 100" companies for 2006.
